Digital marketing & development in Hyderabad

HITEC City's enterprise base plus fast-growing consumer demand.

Hyderabad is a market with a very uneven auction, and understanding where the money is concentrated is most of the strategy. Two verticals — residential real estate and private healthcare — bid hard enough to distort the averages, particularly across the western growth belt and the Banjara Hills and Jubilee Hills hospital cluster. Outside those two categories, a great deal of the city is quietly under-served, and click costs sit closer to a good Tier-2 market than to a metro.

The city's economic backbone is unusually specialised. The HITEC City, Madhapur, Gachibowli and Financial District cluster hosts one of India's largest concentrations of global capability centres, while the older industrial corridors around Jeedimetla, Balanagar, Patancheru and Genome Valley anchor a bulk drug, formulations and contract research industry with genuine international standing. Both are large employers. Neither buys the way a local business buys, and confusing employee reach with purchasing authority is the most expensive mistake made in this market.

The differentiator almost nobody uses properly is Telugu. Telugu-language video consumption in this city is enormous, Telugu creative reaches audiences that English-only campaigns never touch, and national agencies running Hyderabad remotely skip it almost without exception. It is the single cheapest structural advantage available here.

The Hyderabad economy, and what it means for your marketing

Technology and global capability centres dominate the western corridor. Madhapur, Kondapur, Gachibowli, Nanakramguda and the Financial District house delivery operations for multinationals alongside a real domestic product and services layer, supported by a state government that has been deliberate about tech investment — single-window clearances, dedicated incubation infrastructure and continuous expansion of the Outer Ring Road corridor. For consumer businesses this is the highest-income catchment in the city; for B2B sellers it is mostly an audience of employees, not buyers.

Pharmaceuticals and life sciences give Hyderabad a base few Indian cities can match. Bulk drug manufacturing, formulations, contract research and contract manufacturing operate across the northern and western industrial belts and Genome Valley. Marketing into this sector rarely runs through Google Ads — procurement follows regulatory credibility, audit history and trade-show relationships. Where digital does earn its place is recruitment, employer branding, and ancillary suppliers selling equipment, validation, compliance software and lab services.

Real estate has been the loudest advertiser in the city for years, concentrated along the western arc through Kokapet, Narsingi, Tellapur, Gachibowli and the Financial District, with a secondary push north towards Kompally and east towards Uppal. Cost per lead in this category is high and the lead quality is frequently poor, because the same enquirer fills six developer forms in an evening. Anyone entering it needs qualification built into the funnel, not bolted on after.

Healthcare is the other crowded auction. The corporate hospital cluster around Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills and Somajiguda serves not just the city but a wide regional catchment across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, plus meaningful international patient flow. That regional and cross-border demand is chronically under-targeted — most hospital campaigns still aim at a city radius when the actual catchment is several hundred kilometres wide.

Who we work with

The kinds of Hyderabad businesses we take on

IT services & SaaS companies

HITEC City and Gachibowli. Demand generation aimed at buyers elsewhere, with Hyderabad as the delivery base rather than the target market.

Pharma & life sciences suppliers

Equipment, validation, compliance and lab services vendors selling into the Genome Valley and bulk drug belt. Credibility content over campaign volume.

Hospitals, clinics & diagnostics

Regional catchment targeting well beyond city limits, kept strictly inside medical advertising rules.

Real estate developers & channel partners

Western corridor projects. Lead qualification built into the funnel, because raw form volume here is misleading.

Premium consumer & lifestyle brands

Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills and the Financial District catchment — the highest-value consumer postcodes in the city.

Local retail & F&B

Telugu-first creative and map-pack work. This is where the Telugu advantage is largest and the competition weakest.

What's genuinely different about marketing in Hyderabad

The auction is bimodal, and your budget planning has to reflect that. If you sell property or healthcare, expect metro-level costs and plan accordingly. If you sell almost anything else — home services, education, B2B services, retail, hospitality, professional services — you will find impression share available at prices that would be impossible in Bangalore or Mumbai. We have taken over accounts where the owner assumed Hyderabad was expensive because a friend in real estate told them so, and then found their own category costing a third of what they'd budgeted.

Targeting HITEC City for enterprise B2B usually fails, and it fails for a structural reason. A large share of the workforce there staffs offshore delivery centres whose budget authority, vendor onboarding and procurement sit in the parent company's home country. Geographic targeting reaches people who cannot buy from you. For genuine enterprise selling, named-account targeting and LinkedIn beat any radius around Madhapur.

Telugu creative is a real, measurable edge rather than a gesture. Telugu carries strongly in video and social, and Telugu-language ads reach households across the city and the wider two-state catchment that English creative simply doesn't land with. The nuance worth knowing: Telugu script search volume on Google is modest, because people type queries in English or transliteration. So Telugu belongs in your creative, video and landing-page copy far more than in your keyword lists.

The city is not culturally uniform, and the Old City is its own market. The area around Charminar, Laad Bazaar and Chatta Bazar runs on established trade — pearls, bangles, textiles, food — with a distinct Deccani-Urdu-speaking customer base and a different festival and spending calendar, including a pronounced Ramadan and Eid commercial peak. Campaigns built for Jubilee Hills do not transfer there, and most agencies never attempt it.

Who you're actually competing against in Hyderabad

In real estate and healthcare, you are competing against well-funded in-house teams and specialist agencies that have run these accounts for years. Both categories have high cost per lead and high tolerance for it. There is no clever workaround; if you enter, you enter with a proper budget, tight qualification and honest tracking, or you don't enter.

Everywhere else the picture is much friendlier. Many Hyderabad categories have a handful of consistent advertisers, several running without conversion tracking or with conversions counted at form view rather than qualified lead. Organic results in local service categories frequently return sites with no location pages, no schema and poor mobile performance. The fundamentals, done properly, are still enough to win here.

The agency market itself is stratified. There is a large low-cost tier selling monthly social packages that never touch conversion mechanics, a smaller group of genuinely strong local agencies concentrated around the tech corridor, and national agencies servicing Hyderabad remotely. The national players bring process and miss the two things that matter most locally: Telugu creative and the regional catchment outside the city.

The biggest untapped position is not a keyword — it's geography. Hyderabad businesses in healthcare, education and specialist retail draw customers from across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, yet most campaigns stop at the Outer Ring Road. Extending well-targeted campaigns into Warangal, Karimnagar, Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam catches demand that local competitors are not bidding on at all.

What you should realistically budget in Hyderabad

For local service businesses outside the two crowded verticals, ₹30,000 to ₹60,000 a month in Google Ads buys genuine coverage, and in narrower categories can buy majority impression share. This is the part of the Hyderabad market that gets consistently misjudged as expensive.

For healthcare, budgets divide by ambition. A single-location clinic competing locally can work with ₹40,000 to ₹80,000 a month. A hospital targeting the regional catchment realistically needs ₹1.5 lakh to ₹4 lakh a month, and should spend a meaningful share of it outside the city limits where the auction is far thinner.

For real estate, ₹2 lakh to ₹5 lakh a month per active project is the honest range in the western corridor. Below that you will generate leads, but not enough of them to survive the qualification rate this category suffers from.

For consumer brands, ₹75,000 to ₹2 lakh a month on Meta with Telugu and English creative running as separate ad sets is a sound structure. Budget explicitly for Telugu production — it is not a translation job, and creative that reads as translated English performs worse than English does. For SEO, six to twelve months is the realistic horizon, faster in the under-contested categories.

How Hyderabad actually searches

The typed query is overwhelmingly English, including from people whose spoken and viewing language is Telugu. This trips up agencies in both directions: some conclude Telugu doesn't matter because keyword volume is low, others build Telugu-script keyword lists that never spend. The correct read is that Telugu wins attention while English wins the search box.

Voice search is disproportionately significant here and produces longer, more conversational queries, often mixing Telugu phrasing with English nouns. Content written in natural question-and-answer form captures this far better than keyword-stuffed service pages.

Locality names carry heavy commercial weight, and the ones that matter shift as the city expands. Searches specify Gachibowli, Kondapur, Madhapur, Kokapet, Miyapur, Kukatpally, Banjara Hills or Uppal rather than Hyderabad. The Kukatpally and KPHB cluster in particular is a large, dense consumer market that premium-facing campaigns habitually ignore in favour of the more glamorous western postcodes.

Regional intent is visible in the data if you look for it. Search terms and location reports for healthcare, education and specialist services routinely show meaningful volume from outside the metro. Most accounts never check, and so never build the district-level campaigns that would capture it cheaply.

FAQ

Hyderabad questions

It depends almost entirely on your category. Real estate and healthcare are genuinely expensive and competitive. Most other categories — home services, education, professional services, B2B, retail, hospitality — run at costs closer to a strong Tier-2 city than a metro, and often have impression share available. Judging Hyderabad by its property auction will give you the wrong budget in both directions.

For consumer-facing campaigns, yes, and it is one of the few remaining edges most competitors ignore. Telugu belongs primarily in your video, social creative and landing-page copy rather than your keyword lists, because search queries here are typed in English even by Telugu-first audiences. It also needs to be written in Telugu, not translated from English — translated creative reads badly and underperforms.

Rarely. Much of that workforce sits in offshore delivery centres where vendor selection and budget authority live with the parent company abroad. Geographic targeting there reaches people who cannot sign a contract with you. For enterprise B2B we build around named accounts, LinkedIn and intent data instead. Targeting the corridor works well for consumer offers aimed at those employees — that is a different objective.

For healthcare, education, specialist retail and anything with a regional draw, almost certainly. Hyderabad serves a two-state catchment and most local competitors stop advertising at the Outer Ring Road, which leaves district-level demand cheap and largely uncontested. For hyper-local services it is usually not worth the spend.

For direct API or formulation supply, generally not; that business follows regulatory credibility, audit history and trade relationships, and no ad budget shortcuts it. Digital earns its keep in this sector through recruitment, employer branding, and lead generation for ancillary services — equipment, validation, compliance systems, lab and testing services — where buyers do search. We will tell you which side of that line you're on before quoting.
